This was EuroJam 2023
Exciting talks, European music acts and many people who want to think about Europe together: This was EuroJam 2023. For the second time, this new format took place on Europe Day on 9 May in the Glashaus and on the Badeschiff at the Arena Berlin and inspired several hundred people on site and many more digitally.
Oleksii Makeiev, Tessa Ganserer, Nicole Büttner-Thiel, Deniz Yücel, Emilia Roig and Thea Dorn were the six speakers at this year’s edition. They presented their ideas and thoughts on Europe in a wide range of topics: From EU-Turkey policy, European migration policy, environmental and climate protection, artificial intelligence, to the topic of Ukraine. Europe’s role and policies were criticised, controversially discussed, but also praised. All in all, all six talks offered exciting approaches to how Europe can become better. Two European bands performed on the music stage this year: Aka Kelzz (UK-born & Berlin based) and the Spanish/Portuguese band Time for T. Once again, there was a dynamic alternation between talk and music and overall also many opportunities for exchange for the mixed audience, which included members of the German Bundestag, Berlin politicians, representatives of companies and NGOs, as well as students and pupils from five Berlin school classes. The live stream of the event is still available at www.euro-jam.eu and the individual talks will be post-produced in the next few days and published on the YouTube channel of Tu was für Europa. They will also be available on the website.
